Have you ever wondered what the Qur’an has to say about the Big Bang? The Qur’an Project, developed by A Hegab, is an app that holds your answers. The free Android and Apple app contains the Qur’an in Arabic along with its translation in English, French, German and Japanese as well as Surah introductions and special topics. These topics include a short biography of Prophet Muhammad, introduction to the study of the Qur’an, the Qur’an on the origin of the universe, duality in creation, human embryonic development, women in Islam and even scientific miracles.
Last updated in December, the Qur’an Project now includes Qur’an chapter improvements with linguistic analysis and audio recitation.
The app also features a quick guide to ablution and prayer along with a guide on how to become a Muslim. Furthermore, the Qur’an Project has a section on frequently asked questions about Islam, making it ideal for recommending to individuals who may not be familiar with the faith and want to learn more about the basics.
The clean, white layout of the app makes it easy to view and navigate. Each section begins with a quick guide on how to direct your way through the section and make any needed adjustments such as font size, zoom, etc.
The app has over 1,000 consumer ratings with an average of 4.5/5.
As far as content and layout, the Qur’an Project does an exceptional job of making it easy to pilot through the abundance of information the app provides to its users.
However, the information provided in the special topics section is quite heavy and requires a lot of time. It would be nice to have small summaries associated with each topic to further enhance the easy piloting of the app.
The content-heavy app is also fairly slow and can start to lag. Due to this, I would rate the app at 3.5/5.
